STEP ONE

Within 30 days of your ceremony, you must meet with a Hawaii marriage license agent. Both partners must attend together. If you paid online, no additional payment is required. If not, please bring $5 dollars in cash, and you will make the remaining payment via credit/debit card.

Appointments typically last less than half an hour, giving you more time to enjoy your trip and less time managing logistics.

STEP TWO

Start by filling out Hawaii’s online Marriage or Civil Union License application. This can be completed up to one year before your wedding date. Once submitted, you will receive a Locator ID that you must bring to your appointment.

If you prefer, you may bring a printed paper application instead. Simply complete it ahead of time and bring it with you when you meet with your agent.

At your appointment, your agent will verify your identification, review your application, and confirm your details. Once everything is approved, your Hawaii Marriage License will be issued immediately. There is no waiting period, so you can legally marry right away.
